Auditions
Contestants will perform (from memory) one movement from a concerto or an aria on Saturday, June 9, 2012. For more information on this, please contact the office: (607) 936-2873. The maximum length of the movement is ten minutes; movements of longer duration must be cut. Auditions will be scheduled in 12-minute timeslots, which will be assigned in advance. It is highly recommended, though not required, that each student bring his or her own piano accompanist. An accompanist will not be provided to the auditioner. The auditions are very competitive. Only one student will be selected to perform with the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes and the judges may, at their discretion, decide not to select a winner. The decision of the judges is final.
