Music Education is at the heart of our mission.
Here's a taste of what is offered this year.
March Student Discount
The Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes recognizes the importance of making music accessible to the youth in our local area. Each year, the Orchestra offers reduced admission to students, parents and their guests to one of our spring concerts (usually in March, Music in Our Schools Month). The Orchestra hopes that by making these events very affordable (typically admission cost is reduced by 60%), we can encourage young people, and families with young children to support the arts at a fraction of the cost.
Low-Cost and Free Tickets
The Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes continues to make great concerts accessible to all. Students pay only $5 for tickets to all regular Orchestra concerts and a mere $25 for season tickets. Families pay for one student and all additional students are admitted free.
As a Cultural Passport partner, disadvantaged families attend concerts at no charge. For details about Cultural Passport, please contact the ARTS of the Southern Finger Lakes.
Hertzog Young Artist Competition and Performance
The Orchestra and Chemung Canal Trust Company are making heroes of young musicians. Every year, a young performer appears with the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes in a regular season concert. Click here for more information.
