Music Education is at the heart of our mission.
Here's a taste of what is offered this year.
Low-Cost and Free Tickets
The Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes continues to make great concerts accessible to all. Students pay only $5 for tickets to all regular Orchestra concerts and a mere $25 for season tickets. Families pay for one student and all additional students are admitted free.
As a Cultural Passport partner, disadvantaged families attend concerts at no charge. For details about Cultural Passport, please contact the ARTS of the Southern Finger Lakes.
School time Concert at the Clemens Center
"An Introduction to Symphonic Music" is heard by a full house of enthusiastic school children in special, biennial concerts the Clemens Center in Elmira.
Music Laboratory
Music Laboratory enables sixth-grade students to create a unique concert experience while reinforcing core concepts and critical skills. Participants gain ownership of the concert and break down barriers to concert attendance by acknowledging that "expertise" is not needed to form a valid opinion about music. This program is made possible by the Community Foundation of the Elmira-Corning Area, Inc., the Hilliard Foundation, and the ARTS of the Southern Finger Lakes. This program has been in residence at Broadway Middle School since it began four years ago. Click here for more information!
