Lia Kettelkamp (violin), Shade Zajac (cello), and Rosanna Moore (harp) present an evening of French flavours, including Fantasie by Saint-Saëns, Sonata by Debussy, and Trio by Renié.

Following the tradition of the Musicians’ Choice Chamber Music Series, oral program notes will be given by the musicians, interspersed throughout the performance. The short format program is presented in an intimate, relaxed setting without intermission.

Fun for the whole family, kids under 18 are free with an adult ticket purchase.

Meet the Soloists

Shade Zajac, cello
Shade, Assistant Principal Cello in the OSFL, is a conductor, composer and cellist. He is the Principal Conductor and Music Director of the Genesee Symphony Orchestra, Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra, and Orchard Park Symphony Orchestra. He has held these positions since 2016, 2017, and 2020 respectively. Mr. Zajac is also the founder of the Seneca Summer Music Festival and Orchestra. Since 2015, the emphasis has been placed on raising funds for charities and offering orchestral and chamber music performances to his rural hometown of Ovid, NY and the surrounding communities.

  • He has also worked with orchestras such as the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, Northwest Symphony Orchestra in Chicago and the Greater Rochester Women’s Philharmonic. As a cellist, Mr. Zajac performs chamber and solo performances frequently and was a two time winner of the Nazareth College Concerto Competition. He is the Assistant Principal Cellist of the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes and has also performed with Glimmerglass Opera and the Albany Symphony. A prolific composer, Mr. Zajac has composed concertos for Piano, Violin, and Harp as well as chamber, solo, and orchestral music. Shade is also an accomplished drummer, recording and performing in a rock band called “The Third Half.”

Lia Kettelkamp, violin​
A native of Whitefish, Montana, Lia began her musical studies with Suzuki violin lessons at age six. She further developed her orchestral experience as a member of the Great Falls Symphony and Youth Orchestra, under the direction of Gordon Johnson. She made her solo debut at age fifteen, performing Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins with the Great Falls Symphony. Since then, she has appeared as a soloist with both the Great Falls and Billings Symphonies.

  • An alumna of Interlochen Arts Academy, Lia holds a Bachelor of Music Performance from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and two Master of Music degrees in Performance and Literature and Music Education from the Eastman School of Music. Equally devoted to both violin and viola, her performance repertoire spans classical ensembles, as well as folk and fiddle groups. She is dedicated to sharing music in diverse settings, both traditional and contemporary. Currently residing in Rochester, NY, Lia has been an active member of Cordancia Chamber Ensemble since 2015. She also performs in the violin section of the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes.

Rosanna Moore, harp
Often described as a quirky and engaging performer, Rosanna Moore is a harpist, actor, and storyteller dedicated to combining music and theatre. As a tenured member of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, she has performed with elite ensembles including Ensemble Signal, National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, and the Vancouver Symphony, WA. Rosanna has achieved significant competitive success, notably as the first harpist to become a Gold Medal finalist at the Royal Northern College of Music, places third in the Tierra47 and Marcel Tournier harp competitions and appeared as a semi finalist in the World Harp Competition.

  • A specialist in interdisciplinary performance, Rosanna’s research on musical choreography and theatrical practices has been published in Contemporary Music Review. Her creative ventures include the Vaudeville show Roll Up, Roll Up and the chamber music podcast Soundweavers. A self-described "professional composer collector," she has premiered numerous concerti, including works by DJ Sparr and Dr. Angela Elizabeth Slater, and actively commissions new repertoire for solo harp and her chamber groups, Pandora Ensemble and Hats+Heels Duo.

    Currently, Rosanna serves as fulltime tenured Assistant Lecturer in Harp at the Dublin Conservatoire (TU Dublin) and as Harp Instructor at Opus Ithaca. She previously held faculty positions at the University of Oregon, Nazareth College, and the Eastman Community Music School. A frequent clinician, she has presented masterclasses at institutions such as Oberlin Conservatory, the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Rosanna holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the Eastman School of Music, where she also earned certificates in Arts Leadership and Theatre. Her upcoming season features the world premiere of Shade S. Zajac’s concerto I am the Lizard King, a performance of the Gliere Harp Concerto and the release of two new albums.
