Corning Museum of Glass, Corning, NY May the Fourth Be with You!
Pianist Svetlana Smolina will perform one of the most famous piano concertos in film music, Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2. An afternoon of film music would not be complete on this day without a tip of the hat to film score composer John Williams, as we perform the Theme from Star Wars. From the movie Roller Ball, Symphony No. 5 by Shostakovich closes the season with the musicians' choice of favorite piece to play. On this Star Wars day, we welcome movie fans in costume, dress to impress, or come as you are. This concert has it all! |
