Add a Tune Improvisation Project
As part of the ARTS Connect: Summer Readiness Program, the OSFL created the "Add a Tune" Improvisation Project as a way to connect members of the community through music.
Phase 1
Dr. David Rudge (SUNY Fredonia) presented a virtual improvisation workshop to students of the Youth Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes and Junior String Ensemble on May 16, 2021. During this workshop, students explored "found sounds" with non-traditional and traditional instruments, solo improvisations, and group improvisations.
Junior String Ensemble conductor, Debrah Devine, hosted subsequent virtual mini workshops with community members and students to continue these explorations.
